Biografía / Music Non Stop

Layne Fox is an award winning and internationally recognized DJ, record producer and performer with a lengthly discography of original works and remixes.

His productions regularly receive generous support from current top DJ's and dance music pioneers including David Mancuso, Larry Heard , DJ Harvey, James Murphy, Giles Peterson and Andrew Weatherall. He is a founding core member of 40 Thieves with Corey Black and Jay Williams and records/performs solo as Musik Nonstop. Since 2005, 40 Thieves has released original productions and remixes internationally on popular dance labels including Permanent Vacation, Rong Music, Strut/K7!, Claremont 56, Leng, Tirk, Supersoul, China Town and Clouded Vision. 40 Thieves debut album.

The Sky Is Yours, was released in the Spring of 2014 on Leng records across quadruple vinyl and CD formats.

Over the past decade, Fox has had the privilege to remix some of his music idols including Jonny Dynell (Atlantic), Gary Davis (P&P Records) and Kid Creole & The Coconuts (Strut). As Musik Nonstop, Fox has most recently remixed Larry Gus (DFA Records), and Dubmasters for the new Argentinian label, Cosmica Music.

Fox began DJing in the late 80's and has held residencies on both coasts. From 1997-2000 he covered the Friday and Tuesday all-night posts at seminal dance clubs Simon's, Soulhouse & The Loft in Gainesville FL where he played a blend of funk, downtempo, acid jazz and house. After relocating to San Francisco in 2000 he joined the imperial DUB recordings crew helmed by Dubtribe Soundsystem and played alongside them at their monthly events at Club 6 and Liquid. Over the past decade, Fox and his 40 Thieves have gone on to contribute to the global rise of nu disco culture and become a staple favorite of the San Francisco and West Coast party scenes appearing regularly for As You Like It, Sunset / Pacific Sound, Select Discography Highlights
